Learn Intensive are a driving school with a difference… well actually a lot of differences! Our skilled Booking Managers will help you to get on the road sooner than ever by using our rapid test booking service. Usual wait times for a driving test can be 3 sometimes 4 months, however we can secure tests only weeks away in the timescale you are looking for.

We also believe that just because you want to pass your test quickly, customer service shouldn’t go by the roadside. We pride ourselves on our customer service above all else and if we cannot deliver you the test date you are looking for, we will refund your deposit with no questions asked.

We hope this won’t be the case but in the event that you fail your test simply get back in touch with one of our Booking Managers and we will help you decide the best route forward; whether it just be booking a re-test or booking another short course. We offer a discount to all returning customers who book a course through us.

We understand that picking the right course is not an exact science and we don’t want anyone to feel under pressure to take a test when they don’t feel ready. If you feel you need more hours you can simply ring one of our Booking Managers and they will arrange the extra hours you need.

You won’t have to part with hundreds of pounds when booking with ourselves. In order to start the process of getting you on the road we require a deposit of only 10% of your course. Once this has been received, one of our Booking Managers will book your theory test or practical test (where applicable) and match you up with one of our DVSA approved driving instructors. Only at this point will the remainder of the balance be due.

Yes! If you are eager to begin your lessons, paying for the course in full will speed things up. The full balance must be paid at least 7 days before your lessons begin, so paying in full from the outset means you’ll be ready to go!

Once you are matched with a driving instructor they will be on hand to help you schedule your lessons. Just keep them informed of any changes you need to make with as much notice as possible. All our instructors are self employed and last minute cancellations can make it impossible for them to fill the space in their schedule. All instructors will have their own cancellation policy and most require 24-48 hours so you must ensure you are clear on your own instructors’ policy before your first lesson.

No, not at all. Everyone learns at different paces and in different ways. We also understand that everyone has a different level of experience. If you are nervous, our Booking Managers will help you select the right course for you to ensure you are confident at the time of your test. All of our top class instructors are trained to adapt the way they teach every individual, to give you the confidence to pass your test regardless of your previous experience.

Our instructors usually offer home pick up from:

Bristol Kingswood Driving Test centre (BS15 4GQ)  or within 15 mins drive from Kingswood test centre

Our instructors cannot travel beyond these designated areas because our courses are intensive, and there is a lot to cover each day. Commuting back and forth would consume valuable lesson time. For example, a 30-minute drive outside the city (one way) would mean losing one hour of instruction time per day (with pick up and drop off), which equates to five hours lost each week. Instead, you can spend those five hours more effectively, closer to the test centre, where you can focus on practicing essential skills such as junctions, roundabouts, and other.

If you are travelling to meet instructor, they can pick you up from near a bus stop – nearer driving test centre.

To start learning how to drive, you must meet the DVSA requirements. Detailed guidance on what is required can be found here.

Your driving instructor will need to see:

* Your provisional driving licence

* a printout of your driver record (which can be obtained here)

* We recommend bringing a bottle of still water with you for each lesson to stay hydrated

As you start your intensive driving course in Bristol, your instructor will start your driving course in a quiet area to help you become accustomed to the car. You will be taught basic skills, such as moving off and stopping, as well as how to handle junctions. As you gain confidence and master the basics, your instructor will introduce more challenging subjects, including roundabouts, crossroads, and dual carriageways, among other important topics. After covering all the necessary subjects, your instructor will typically conduct a “mock test” to assess whether you are ready for the real driving test.

We hope that everyone passes first time but as a driving test requires you to apply your own skill and knowledge, it would be impossible for us to guarantee. Your driving instructor will do everything they can to assist you in passing your test, however it is also dependent on you making the most of your lessons and giving 100% to ensure you are ready when the time comes.

If you fail your theory test, book another one as quickly as possible. Start your driving course as planned and complete the majority of your lessons. Depending on your progress and arrangements with your instructor, you can either save some hours from the course to use after you pass your theory test, or you can book additional lessons on a pay-as-you-go basis after the course.
